A meeting of the Board of Directors of the European Association of Veteran Athletes, as well as the Awards for the Best European Veteran Athletes of 2010 took place at the Offices and Museum of the Veteran Track Athletes Association, on Saturday the 22nd of January 2011.
On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Olympians Association, Vice President George Marsellos, General Secretary George Liveris and consultant Spiros Kontosoros attended the session. The Olympians Anna Verouli, Stefanos Petrakis, Nikos Georgopoulos and George Tsakanikas were also present.
The President of the Greek Association Simeon Simeonidis and the General Secretary Giorgos Konstadopoulos greeted the guests while the President of the Athens Veteran Athletes Giorgos Kavouras also attended.
Particularly impressive among the awarded athletes, was the French Nicole Alexi, who dominated in all races events of 2010, by not only winning but also setting new world records.
It is worth mentioning that these annual awards take place every year at the premises of the Panathenaic Stadium, at Pangrati, close to Plastira Square, where the Hellenic Olympic Committee hosts the Offices and the Museum of the Greek Veteran Track and Field Athletes.
